We headed across the sound to Bainbridge Island to celebrate Charley’s 13th birthday. The light today was pretty mesmerizing as the clouds surrounding us were so dark, but there was just enough bright sunlight across the waterfront to make the Great Wheel and space needle pop.

I bought the boys a balloon kit at the grocery store, so Carter made Gavin a hat, belt and sword to play with.

Today was a long day for us, but you my little love bug did so wonderfully. I am proud of you for how hard you are trying, I am proud of you for holding it together, especially since you were on the brink of losing it a few times. You continue to impress me every day and seeing you held to expectations beyond your years sometimes isn’t fair or right, but we are working on it. Love you buddy.

Gavs woke up at 3:30am and puked all over his bed. He then proceeded to throw up every 20-40 minutes until 7pm, regardless of having something in his stomach or not. This has to be one of the worst illnesses I have had with the kids – it hurt him so much to dry heave and there was nothing I could do to help him. No medicine to make it stop. It just had to run its course and I sat next to him and rubbed his back through it all. I don’t like feeling so helpless as a parent :-(

THANK GOODNESS it only lasted a day. This was the happiest sight possible for me today, even if it is terrible table manners and grosses me out.
