Ball!

So for the last week and a half or so we have been working with Carter on “ball.”  We would say the word, show him a ball and try to make a fun game of it.  About a week ago, I asked him where the ball was in the room and he started looking around, but got a bit distracted when another toy came into view between he and the ball.

Tonight, he went and got the ball.  Not only did he get the ball, it sounded like he said “ball” a couple of times.  He has been making a lot more noises and ranges of sounds over the last week and I am wondering if we are now on the cusp of something?  Or if I was just hearing what I wanted to :)

In the meantime, I made in on an 8 mile run this morning in between rain storms and my pace was probably the best I have to date.  My fastest mile was at a 9:02 pace and my slowest was 9:50.  I finished the 8 miles in 1:15:24 & the last mile of it was the 9:02 pace – I was so close to finishing in one hour fifteen minutes that I pushed myself that last mile and was just barely over.  I am pretty happy with that!

Today we went to Ava’s birthday party so I figured it might be fun to post some photos of the neighborhood kids.  I will mark the one that I will more than likely use for my Project52 photo.  If you have an opinion of which one I should use, please let me know and why – I am curious what folks think!
