It was cold this morning when I woke up – it’s really starting to feel like fall now. But it wasn’t raining and for the last nine Saturday mornings, we have been lucky that it has been dry. Why would I know about the last nine Saturday mornings worth of weather? Because my dad and I would meet up just around sunrise to get our long runs for the weekend out of the way.

And today was the last one before the race.

So here we are, trail behind us, and sweaty and happy that we did it. We made it through nine of the ten weeks of training!

I started about 1/2 hour before her and finished 13 minutes before her. Then I ran back to where she was and carried her piggy back to the finish line the last 1.5 miles.

Your dad looks fresh as a daisy. Are you sure he went the whole distance??
