Why This Photo:
I was trying to think of something different to photograph this week and when we went to cut the pumpkins in our pumpkin patch, this dahlia was blooming for the first time this summer. This is by far the largest one I have – in fact, I don’t ever remember seeing one this size ever. (Bonus photo below will give you perspective on its size)
Challenges/Lessons Learned:
I am still terrible about taking time to compose shots and get exactly what I want – I should have taken a little more time and put the camera on a tripod, adjusted the height/angle to where the composition would have been symmetrical. Unfortunately my life isn’t at a point where I can take this kind of time (it is a miracle I have been able to post as many photos as I have). And I am okay with it – happy actually. I will have plenty of time when my kids are in school or grown and out of the house.
Bonus Shot:
Here is my mom posing below the dahlia. The flower is larger than her head!
