      Why These Photos:
      I have been watching two hummingbirds duke it out over the feeder for the last several weeks and finally broke out my larger telephoto lens to try to catch them. I love the story that it tells where the one is just sitting there, eating, minding his own business and then out of nowhere the other comes at him, making him jump back a little. But you can see the motion in the third showing that it is almost like he gets mad at the disruption and decides to go after the other guy.

      Challenges/Lessons Learned:
      Those suckers are fast! I have to be honest – I just started holding the trigger down after I set up the shot and saw them in the view finder. While I like the blur showing motion, I should have chosen a faster shutter speed to try to freeze them a bit more. I am sure I will get plenty of practice in the coming months as all the migratory ones come back into the area.

      Bonus Shot:
      This is the first time I have ever seen one with this coloring. I almost chose it as my shot, but liked the story better:
